Lithuania's dairy exports up by 32% in January-September

 

 

Lithuania's January-September exports of dairy products increased by 32% on-year to LTL1.06 billion (US$399 million), the Agriculture Ministry said.

 

Dairy export prices grew by approximately 4.1% this year compared with the January-September period last year.

 

The sales of Lithuania's dairy companies made up LTL2.01 billion (US$756 million) in the reporting period, up 26.1% compared with the same period in 2010. Sales on domestic market rose by 20.2% and accounted for 47.3% of total sales.

 

According to the data made available by the Agricultural Information and Rural Business Centre, the total herd of cows in Lithuania made up 341,000 heads as of October 1, down 3.6% on-year.
