JSR Genetics has established a new distributor in Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia, in order to push further into the Eastern European market.
JSR Genetics' latest partnership is with the Bulgarian Meat Company AD and will be known as JSR BMK AD.
"The long term aim of JSR BMK AD is to establish a local nucleus and multiplication pyramid with the ability to deliver more prolific parent gilts and give producers a greater range of options and in-depth technical support on the ground. These developments fit well with our existing facilities in Poland, Cyprus and Greece all of which provide significant data for our research projects in the UK," said Tim Rymer, chairman of JSR Genetics.
Three Bulgarian pig farmers, who have a Nucleus and Multiplication farm of nearly 900 sows and work alongside sister company L.A Semen Delivery Service, had visited JSR, said JSR's European Sales Director Paul Anderson.
The visiting farmers had ordered 200 Genepacker, 150 parent gilts and five boars, consisting of the Geneconverter 500, 600 and 700, said Anderson.
The president of JSR BMK AD is George Todorov, who had years of experience in the Eastern European pig market, according to Anderson.
