Export demand falls as Chinese lysine no longer cheap
Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending December 13.
Deliveries of lysine improved, further easing the supply crunch of lysine. Meanwhile, lysine prices remained high despite the recent week’s sharp decline, hence curtailing overseas demand. Local buyers were therefore not as eager to accumulate inventories during the period in review, resulting in weaker prices.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine dropped to the range of RMB13-16.50/kg.
RMB1=US$0.1449 (Dec 13)
