China's November soy imports seen 36% lower
The November soy imports of China were estimated at 5.17 million tonnes, down 36% from October, the China National Grain and Oils Information said Friday (Dec 9).
The state-back think-tank also predicted that the country would import 5.43 million tonnes of soy in December.
If the estimates are realised, this year's soy imports will amount to 52 million tonnes, down 5.1% from last year.
The Ministry of Commerce earlier estimated that China's imports in November and December would come to 5.63 million tonnes and 4.2 million tonnes, respectively.
