Russia sets pork and poultry import quotas for 2009
          

 

The Russian government has set pork and poultry import quotas for 2009, according to a government ruling issued on Monday (Dec 8).

 

The pork import quota was set at 531,900 tonnes for 2009, up from 502,200 tonnes in 2008, while the poultry import quota was decreased to 952,000 tonnes from about 1.2 million tonnes this year.

 

The government has also set duties on above-quota pork imports at 75 percent of the customs value, but no less than 1.5 Euros per kilogramme, and duties on above-quota poultry imports at 95 percent of the customs value, but no less than 0.8 Euros per kilogramme.
