Melamine contagion stretches in soy
Melamine continues its spread on feed grains as considerable levels of the chemical were found in soy in different countries.
UK has found a large amount of melamine in soy which came from China. The contamination was discovered during a company inspection when the soy was further processed to animal feed. The soy grains, however, were not destroyed.
France also found contamination in 300 tonnes of ecological produced soy. Poultry that got the contaminated fed have been recalled.
Last month, melamine in soy processed into feed was also found in the Netherlands. Though it was already sold to farmers, the remaining contaminated feed has been recalled and destroyed.
