Ukraine's dairy companies anticipate access to EU market
With no further response from the European Commission, 10 companies in Ukraine could obtain permits to deliver dairy products to the EU, the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency reported.
This would happen from January 10 next year. The development came after the European Commission informed Ukraine that the companies had passed the audit, the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine said.
According to Oleksiy Pavlenko, Ukraine's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, achieving European quality certificates for the country's dairy products is a significant step forward towards accessing new markets. The documents declare that products have fulfilled international requirements and will help to widen the Ukrainian agricultural sector's export reach.
The country will not only be able to export dairy to Europe, but other markets – including Asia and Africa – as well, Pavlenko said.
