India to annually export milk powder, wheat to Bhutan
Fixed quantities of milk powder, wheat, edible oil, pulses and non-basmati rice have been allowed by the Indian government on Monday (Dec 5) to be annually exported to Bhutan.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in a notification said that the government has allowed export of 1,600 tonnes of milk powder, 24,000 tonnes of wheat, 2,400 tonnes of edible oil, 1,200 tonnes of pulses and 21,200 tonnes of non-basmati rice to Bhutan.
The quantities exempted for export are for annual shipment, it added.
The government from time to time exempts essential commodities like wheat and rice for exports under food aid programmes and bilateral trade agreements.
