Italian wheat import increase in eight months

 

 

Italy's wheat import rose to 3.2 million tonnes, in the first eight months of 2011 from 3.1 million tonne in the same period of 2010, according to Italian cereals body Anacer.

 

Corn imports rose to 1.8 million tonnes in the January-August period from 1.3 million tonnes in the same period of 2010 said Anacer.

 

Imports of durum wheat used for making pasta fell to 1.3 million tonnes from 1.4 million tonnes it added.
