Argentina to develop pork industry; looks to Australia for help
Argentina is keen to develop its pork sector and Australia's farmers could hold the genetics necessary for expansion.
Argentina is eyeing Australia's seeds to grow more biofuel plants such as rapeseed and better quality pastures.
Argentina wants to move into pork, according to Norma Ramira, Austrade commissioner in Buenos Aires.
Ramira said they are working with the authorities to get the certification and approvals to send genetics from pigs, as Argentine farmers want to develop the industry for pork instead of beef.
