Belarus introduces pork and poultry import quotas for next year
Belarus has announced pork and poultry import quotas for 2023, distributed between registered legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who submitted requests for using these quotas to the regional executive committees by 20 December, Belta reported.
Belarus' Agriculture and Food Ministry was directed to establish tariff quotas for each region for the import of pork and poultry meat into Bthe country in 2023, and to bring them to the attention of regional executive committees by December 15, 2022.
The ministry was also directed to distribute 100% of tariff quotas for pork and poultry meat imports by January 5, 2023. A local legal act must be issued by the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Regional executive committees must submit proposals to the Belarus' Agriculture and Food Ministry by December 27, 2022, for the distribution of quotas among registered legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in proportion to the actual volume of products processed the previous year.
Import licences for pork and poultry meat are issued by the country's Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
