Ukraine's Volyn region to organise 30 public cattle runs

The creation of 30 public cattle runs costing UAH11.2 million (US$1.4 million) will be organised by Ukraine's Volyn regional state administration in the spring of 2012, Vitalii Karpiuk, deputy chairman of the regional state administration said on November 29.

He said that soils and seeds are been currently prepared and in spring each run of 20 hectares will be sowed.

Karpiuk added that cattle runs will be created on lands of village councils, whose producers are engaged in cattle breeding the most.

The money for cattle runs will be allocated from the regional budget within joint financing from local budgets of districts and village councils.

According to Karpiuk, at present, there are no well-developed cattle runs in the region.
