China's pork imports fell more than 40% in September and October
China has seen a drop in pork imports in September and October, with reductions of more than 40% compared to the same period of 2020.
Chinese pork imports during October continued to decline and stood at 200,000 tonnes, the lowest value since November 2019 and 41.1% lower compared to the same month last year.
September marked a record decline of 44.8% (210,000 tonnes versus 380,000 tonnes).
During the first 10 months of this year, total pork imports stood at 3,340,000 tonnes, down 7.5% compared to the same period last year.
