China's soy imports in Q1 2012 estimated at 13 million tonnes

 

 

China will import 13 million tonnes of soy in the first quarter of 2012, up 18.5% on-year, according to a forecast by China National Grain and Oils Information Centre (CNGOIC).

 

The centre also said that the country's soy imports in the fourth quarter of this year may hit 14.3 million tonnes.

 

China is the world's largest importer of soy.
