China Guangxi's agricultural product trade value ups more than 80 percent on-year
In the first 10 months of 2008, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's agricultural product trade value surged by 81.3 percent year-on-year to US$2.26 billion.
Guangxi's imports and exports soared by 83.7 percent and 75.3 percent respectively to US$1.64 billion and US$620 million and the trade deficit standing at US$1.02 billion.
In terms of imported agricultural products, Guangxi's soy import value stood at US$1.32 billion, up 2.2-fold year-on-year and accounting for 80 percent of the region's total import value.
Guangxi also imported palm oil, fresh fruit and tapioca starch and exported aquatic products, fruit and vegetable oil.
