UK meat inspectors agree pay deal, call off strike
UK meat hygiene inspectors have called off a strike after reaching a pay deal, according to labour union Unison.
The union, which represents around 80 percent of UK meat hygiene workers, said the 2.99 percent deal will be backdated to August 2007.
Workers had voted to strike December 2-4, a move that would have affected meat supplies in the run-up to Christmas.
