World Association of Buiatrics abstract submissions closing on Dec 1

The 29th Congress of the World Association of Buiatrics will be closing its abstract submission system on December 1.

The Congress, focussing on cattle health and production systems, will take place in Convention Centre Dublin, Ireland from July 3-8, 2016.

The Congress will bring together world experts in cattle health and production systems. Latest scientific updates will include the areas of internal medicine, nutrition, animal health economics, sustainable agriculture, biosecurity, reproduction, toxicology, genetics, breeding and a wide range of emerging diseases. The Congress is expected to attract between 2,500 to 3,000 delegates from academia, research, general veterinary practice, government veterinary services as well as leading animal scientists.

There is also a social programme put in place that will provide a range of tour options for those wishing to extend their stay beyond the Congress itself.

"Ireland itself is one of the most important food exporting nations in the world and we look forward to both learning from our international colleagues and sharing our experiences," said professor Michael Doherty, scientific chair of the local organising committee. "We export nearly €2 billion worth of beef every year as well as more than 85% of our milk output in cheese, powders and butters, exceeding €3 billion; the agri-food sector is estimated to employ 10% of our total workforce. WBC delegates arriving here will find an expanding industry fully committed through Animal Health Ireland to achieving optimal animal health and welfare as well as a people who recognise the importance of agriculture both to the economy and to the identity of the country itself.'

Early-bird rates for event registration are available until March 2016.
