Xinjiang to establish largest integrated hog base
Desert Edge Farm Corp is set to establish a 560,000-head hog production base, a 230,000-tonne meat processing plant and a 300,000-tonne feed mill in Xinjiang over the next three to five years. This will set the stage for the largest integrated hog base in the province.

Huarei Agriculture starts work on Jiangsu modern dairy farm
Gansu Huarei Agriculture Co Ltd's RMB236-million modern dairy farm broke ground in Changshu, Jiangsu's Suzhou. First-phase construction, which costs around RMB118 million, comprises a 5,000-head cattle farm and a dairy production line capable of processing 600 tonnes of milk daily. The company has so far purchased 1,500 Holstein cows from local farms and Australia.

High-grade beef cattle integrated base breaks ground in Anhui
A high-grade beef cattle integrated base involved in cattle rearing, sales, meat processing and R&D, recently started construction in Yongqiao, Suzhou city of Anhui.
The base, which is set to receive an injection of RMB350 million over the period of 2011-15, will have an inventory of 45,000 cattle with a release capacity of 15,000 each year once fully operational.

Hunan sets up RMB1.18-billion marbled pork processing base
Shalong Livestock Co Ltd and Guangzhou-based Haiyuan Food Co Ltd joined hands in a marbled pork processing base in Ningxiang county, Changsha city of Hunan. The RMB1.18-billion joint venture will include hog slaughtering, meat product processing and R&D. Haiyuan Food also agreed to purchase Ningxiang marbled white-carcass pork valued at RMB1 billion from Shalong Livestock.

Wens Group's 300,000-tonne Guangxi feed mill starts operation
Wens Group recently put into operation its RMB40-million feed mill in Xinye county, Yulin, Guangxi. The two-hectare plant, which is equipped with large-scale production lines, warehouse and distribution facilities, are expected to produce 300,000 tonnes of poultry and hog feed annually.

Yunnan's Dali builds RMB35-million eco dairy farm
A RMB35-million ecological dairy demonstration farm broke ground in Eryuan county, Yunnan's Dali. Upon completion by April next year, the 120-mu farm will house about 1,000 dairy cattle, producing more than 3,500 tonnes of fresh milk yearly and providing the county with over 200 heifers.
