Global markets
FOB prices of Peru's FAQ fishmeal remained at US$1,200/tonne.
Several fishmeal producers halted price releases. Trade was light as most global buyers have stocked sufficient supplies lately.
Market analysis
Dwindling aqua feed demand curtailed the sales of fishmeal in China.
Amid diminishing demand, traders were cutting import volumes. According to customs statistics, October fishmeal import volume decreased by 45% on-month to 53,000 tonnes.
Market forecast
The ending of aquaculture season will limit the use of fishmeal in China, keeping prices weak for the coming period.
