Norway's 2012 beef shortage forecast up

Nortura has increased its forecast for Norway's beef shortage in 2012 to 6,700 tonnes.

This means that around 13,600 tonnes will have to be imported, which corresponds to 15% of the total consumption.

The forecast was revised as a result of rising consumption. The shortage is caused by falling numbers of milch cows in Norway.
