France's LDC's H1 profit down 12%
A net profit of EUR19.5 million (US$26 million) in the first half of fiscal year 2011/12, ending February, down 12% on the year has been registered by French poultry producer LDC.
Revenue rose by 9% to EUR1.3 billion (US$1.7 billion).
The company was affected by the price increases of cereals used to feed the poultry and was not able to reflect those increases in sale prices.
LDC sees a net improvement of its results in the second half of the fiscal year.
The group hopes to raise its market share in France to 40% from the current 32%.
