Milk output falls 9.7% in Ukraine

Ukraine's milk production dropped in October by 9.7% or 98,700 tonnes compared with last month, to 915,700 tonnes, the State Statistics Service reported.

Private farms reduced milk production by 10.1% to 743,700 tonnes, and specialised farms by 8% to 172,000 tonnes.

In October 2011, milk production increased by 0.1% or 1,200 tonnes compared to October 2010.

In January-October 2011, comparing with January-October 2010, milk production decreased by 1.9% or 184,800 tonnes to 9,625,300 tonnes.

Earlier in September, milk production fell by 10.7% or 121,400 tonnes compared to August, to 1,013,700 tonnes.

In 2010, milk production decreased by 3.1% or 355,500 tonnes to 11,254,100 tonnes on-year.
