Russian grains reach 97.5 million tonnes in bunker weight
Russia has produced 97.5 million tonnes of grain in bunker weight, according to Elena Skrynnik, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on November 22 (Tue).
The country also received record harvests of sugar beet, sunflower, rapeseed and soy.
According to Skrynnik, the production volume is sufficient to close the domestic need and realise the serious export potential, which is estimated at the level of 25 million tonnes.
Russia has the high resource potential for development of the agricultural sector, and is able not only to ensure own food security, but also to become the major exporter of food in the world, stated the Minister.
Skrynnik stressed that development of export trading is the point of growth of the industry.
