Marine Harvest announces changes in technical department

Press Release

Marine Harvest has announced that Øyvind Oaland will take over as Technical Director to replace Petter Arnesen, effective December 1, 2008.

As Technical Director, Oaland will be reporting to the CEO but will not be a member of the Group Management Team.

Oaland has been with Marine Harvest since 2000 and has recently held the position of VP Food Safety & Quality Assurance. In addition to leading the Group Technical Department, he will continue with his current responsibilities within the areas of food safety and quality assurance.

Over the past few years, Marine Harvest has seen a growing demand for information and attention to the environmental aspects related to their operations. As a result, current Technical Director will start in a new role as VP Feed & Environment.

Arnesen will be responsible for sustainability and environment; feed issues related to this topic, issues related to reputation management; cooperation with NGOs; and coordination of the research and development area.
