Vietnam's Ha Tinh to boost local pig breeding with US$12.74 million

 

 

Ha Tinh, the central province of Vietnam, looks to invest VND279 billion (US$12.74 million) to enhance pig breeding of the locality in the 2011-2015 period, according to local news Friday (Nov 18).

 

Under the plan, the province will develop high-quality pig strains and provide pig offspring for local animal raisers.

 

The province projects to have 14,000 parent pigs, producing 270,000 pig offspring by 2015. The figures will rise to 23,300 parent pigs and 448,000 pig offspring by 2020.

 

Ha Tinh Mineral, Trade Corporation, Duc Long Farm and cooperatives, livestock farms in the 12 districts will carry out the project.
