Thailand's poultry exports seen to fall in 2009
Industry experts are expecting a downturn in Thailand's poultry exports next year due to the global economy crisis.
Poultry exports next year should decline as key importers such as the US, Japan and the EU, are suffering from the world economy slowdown, said Dr. Anan Sirimongkolkasem, President of the Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association.
Exports of cooked chicken and chicken meat next year are forecast at 350,000 tonnes and 10,000 tonnes, respectively, down about 5 percent from this year, said Anan.
