FIAAP / VICTAM / GRAPAS 2016: Another sold-out show expected

With the 2016 edition of FIAAP / VICTAM / GRAPAS Asia just months away, a press conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand, to address the upcoming show which will happen on March 29-31 next year.

During the session in J.W Marriott Hotel, Henk van de Bunt, the general manager of Victam International BV, expected exhibitor slots for next year's event to be sold out quickly even as 2016 would be the 25th year that Victam holds a show in Asia.

Nevertheless, the growing number of visitors and exhibits will be accommodated by an expansion of the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre's (BITEC) premises, to double its capacity by 2016, van de Bunt added. The venue serves as Victam's event ground since 2010.

He also highlighted the "obvious relationship" between FIAAP and VICTAM, given the importance of understanding ingredients that are being added into feed formulations. While VICTAM concerns about feed production technology, FIAAP focuses on feed additives and ingredients.

"Therefore, whether one is a CEO, nutritionist or meal manager, he will find his answers at the shows," van de Bunt said. The synergy of both events benefits not just visitors, but exhibitors as well. "(They) can talk to these important industry executives and demonstrate to them the superiority of their products," he commented.

As the conference drew to a close, van de Bunt showed data which projects significant growth in Asian feed productions. Regional output is anticipated to reach 319.6 million tonnes in 2018, from 241 million tonnes in 2011. "(This) demonstrates the importance of a show such as ours to the development of the industries in Asia... feed production is growing faster here than elsewhere," van de Bunt explained.

The session concluded with dinner - hosted by the Victam team - for the press and company executives.
