EU extends Bulgarian dairies restructuring

The deadline of Bulgaria's dairy restructuring to meet standards have been extended by the EU for two years, the country's agriculture ministry said on Thursday (Nov 17).

The decision allows Bulgarian dairies to process milk that does not meet EU standards until December 31, 2013, the ministry said in a statement.

The decision is pending signature by EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy John Dalli. It is to be published in the in the EU's Official Journal by the end of the year.
