FrieslandCampina to consolidate EMEA operational financial activities
FrieslandCampina intends to consolidate all operational financial activities for its operating companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in its Financial Shared Services Centre EMEA (FSSC EMEA) in Budapest, Hungary.
The decision is in line with plans announced on November 10 to simplify the internal organisation in order to reduce costs, the dairy cooperative explained. Transfer of operational financial activities from Wolvega and Amersfoort to Budapest is planned to start from January 2021 onwards. Employees have been informed about this intention.
Particularly, as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, market conditions have deteriorated sharply in 2020 and accelerated structural improvement initiatives are necessary.
In addition to greater uniformity in the services provided to internal customers, a reduction in complexity, greater efficiency and future automation synergies, the consolidation will also lead to structurally lower costs.
As of the first quarter of 2022, all operating companies in FrieslandCampina's EMEA region will be supported from Budapest for their operational financial activities. It is expected that 169 employees in the Financial Shared Service Centre in the Netherlands are affected. The employees and trade unions have been informed and the works council has been asked for advice.
The Social Plan of FrieslandCampina will apply to employees with an employment agreement for an indefinite time. The cooperative will support employees involved in finding a new job within or outside the company.
Next to its FSSC EMEA in Budapest, FrieslandCampina also has a Financial Shared Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that carries out all operational financial activities for its operating companies in Asia.
