Shanghai city government announces coronavirus tests for all high-risk imported cold-storage food
The Shanghai city government said it will test all imports of high-risk cold-storage food for COVID-19 coronavirus traces before it is sold or stored in the city, but did not specify what constitutes "high-risk", Reuters reported.
The announcement follows reports of coronavirus traces found in imported frozen shipments in the other Chinese cities.
Xiamen city said it detected the virus in pork shipments from France, but did not name the company. A statement from the Xiamen Municipal Health Commission said the cold storage warehouse was shut down and workers were tested, but tests have returned negative for COVID-19.
A Jining city county detected the virus on imported frozen seafood product samples.
