Ukraine's cattle population shows decrease
Ukraine's cattle population for January-October 2011 declined by 2.4% to 4,952,900 as compared with the same period in 2010, the State Statistics Service reported.
In particular, the number of cows decreased by 2.6% to 2,627,940. The number of pigs during this period decreased by 4.2% to 8,067,400. Sheep and goat population has not changed and remains at the level of up to 1,981,600.
The number of birds during this period decreased by 0.3% to 218,628,700.
In 2010, the number of cattle in comparison with 2009 decreased by 6.9% to 4,494,400.
