Russia harvests 113.6 million tonnes of grain
Russia harvested 113.6 million tonnes of grain in bunker weight to November 10 on 45.3 million hectares of land, which is 97.7 percent of the total grain planted area, with an average yield of 2.51 tonnes a hectare, the agriculture ministry said Thursday.
The amount of grain harvested to date was 26.4 million tonnes more than on the year-earlier date, with the harvested area exceeding the year earlier by 4.1 million hectares. The average yield exceeded those of the year-earlier date by 0.39 tonnes a hectare.
The agriculture ministry said it expected this year's grain harvest to exceed 100 million tonnes in clean weight, at least 18 million tonnes more than in 2007.
