Argentina's Jan-Sept poultry exports up 36 percent on-year
Argentina's poultry exports from January through September were up sharply, rising 36 percent in volume and 57 percent in value on the year.
Exports during the period totalled 141,746 tonnes, valued at US$205 million agricultural sanitation and quality service Senasa said in a press release Tuesday.
Fresh poultry exports during the period totalled 100,716 tonnes valued at US$161 million. Chile was the top market for fresh poultry exports, followed by Venezuela and Germany.
Processed poultry exports during the period totalled 3,180 tonnes, a three percent year-on-year increase in volume, Senasa said. Germany and the Netherlands were the leading buyers of Argentina's processed poultry shipments.
China, Hong Kong and Vietnam led imports of Argentine poultry feet, wings, and other parts.
