Another 48,000 chickens to culled in the Netherlands following new bird flu outbreak
Health officials in the Netherlands said an additional 48,000 chickens will be culled from a farm at the northern province of Groningen following confirmation of a highly pathogenic bird flu outbreak there, Reuters reported.
This is the latest incident of bird flu to be reported in the country, after H5N8 bird flu was confirmed was first confirmed among wild birds in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is the biggest poultry and eggs exporter in Europe.
