Thailand's chicken exports steady despite floods
Thailand's chicken exports are steady in spite of extensive flooding, with advanced orders for delivery booked until the third quarter of 2012, announces the Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association.
"Although most broiler farms have seen no impact from the floods, buyers are concerned about logistics and shipment delays", explains Kukrit Arepageorn, manager of the Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association, adding that most orders have come from Japan and the EU, the two biggest buyers of Thai chicken products.
No export drop is anticipated this year with Thailand on track to ship out 450,000 tonnes or more of chicken meat, a rise of 6.3% on-year.
