Hong Kong suspends Thailand's poultry import applications
Hong Kong will suspend the processing of applications for importing poultry and poultry products from Thailand, said the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of Hong Kong.
The decision was taken following confirmation of a case that involves the highly pathogenic bird flu H5N1 on a Thai poultry farm, said a CFS spokesman.
The CFS is seeking further information about the case from relevant authorities, the spokesman added.
Hong Kong has not imported any Thai poultry meat or poultry product since the CFS resumed processing of applications for the products from Thailand in September this year.
