Brazilian grain harvest to decrease 1.4%
Brazilian grain output for 2012 will fall 1.4% to 157.5 million tonnes, according to the Brazilian Census Bureau, or IBGE, on Wednesday (Nov 9) in its maiden survey for 2012.
This year's harvest, meanwhile, is estimated at 159.7 million tonnes, representing an increase of 6.8% over 149.6 million tonnes in 2010.
Production of rice, corn and soy, which represent 90.6% of the 2011 total, is expected to increase 19%, 0.6%, and 9.2% respectively, the bureau said.
