Serbia reaps over two million tonnes wheat in 2011

Serbia gathered more than two million tonnes of wheat and anticipates to harvest some 6.2 million tonnes of corn this year, according to local media news.

The harvested corn would be enough to meet domestic demand, as more than two million tonnes could be exported, said Agriculture Minister Dusan Petrovic.

Comparative figures for the 2010 wheat and corn output were not available.

Petrovic also said the country's wheat and bread market is stable.
