Ukrainian grain production reaches 53 million tonnes
Ukraine produced 53.06 million tonnes of grains as of November 9, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the announcement, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 14.7 million ha, or 95% of the forecast. The average yield of these crops in the country totalled 36.2 c/ha against 28.3 c/ha last year.
Agrarians harvested 17.5 million tonnes of corn throughout 2.9 million ha (81% of the forecast). The average yield totalled 60.2 c/ha, as opposed to 45.6 c/ha in 2010.
Ukrainian agrarians harvested soy throughout 1.07 million ha (96%), and produced 2.18 million tonnes with the yield of 20.3 c/ha (in 2010 - 16 c/ha).
