Vietnamese government to provide vaccine against blue-ear disease
In order to manage the recurrence of blue-ear disease, provision of vaccine and disinfection chemical by the Vietnamese government for Tien Giang and Quang Nam provinces has been proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The disease broke out in five communes of Dien Ban district and Hoi An town of the central province of Quang Nam, infecting 375 pigs, the Nong nghiep Viet Nam newspaper reported Tuesday (Nov 8).
The disease has also reoccurred in Cho Gao district in Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, infecting 1,000 pigs of those 303 pigs already died.
The ministry asked the government to provide 100,000 blue-ear vaccine doses and 20,000 litres of Benkocid and Han-Iodine for the two provinces to prevent the further expansion of the disease.
