Estonia's Q3 milk output hits three-year high

A total of 177,139 tonnes of milk was produced in Estonia in the third quarter of 2011, up 2.5% on-year and the highest in three years.

Milk  output in the first nine months of the year grew 2% on-year to 521,135 tonnes.

The number of cattle has been increasing this year. At the end of the third quarter there were 244,200 cattle in Estonia, up from 236,300 at the beginning of the year.
