China permits poultry imports from Spain and Slovakia
A poultry import ban in place since 2016 was lifted October 31, 2019 as China's customs declared that there was no more bird flu in both countries, reported Reuters.
The notice for lifting the ban on poultry and poultry products from Spain and Slovakia was published on China's General Administration of Customs website.
China is increasing meat imports and looking to supplement its supply shortage as the deadly African swine fever (ASF) has spread among the country's pig herd.
