Ukraine's grain production reaches 50.9 million tonnes

 

 

Ukraine produced 50.89 million tonnes of grains as of November 2 (Wed), according to a report from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

 

According to the announcement, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 14.37 million ha, or 94% of the forecast. The average yield of these crops in the country totalled 35.4 c/ha against 28 c/ha last year.

 

Agrarians harvested 15.37 million tonnes of corn throughout 2.63 million ha (73% of the forecast). The average yield totalled 58.4 c/ha, as opposed to 44.6 c/ha in 2010.

 

As of the reporting date, Ukrainian agrarians already completed the harvesting campaign of buckwheat and millet.

 

Ukraine also produced 8.5 million tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 4.55 million ha (99%). The average yield totalled 18.7 c/ha, as opposed to 16 c/ha last year.

 

Ukrainian agrarians harvested soy throughout 1.02 million ha (91%), and produced 2.08 million tonnes with the yield of 20.3 c/ha (in 2010 - 15.6 c/ha).
