Singapore finds Chinese meat products to be melamine-free

Meat products from China that have been tested so far are melamine-free, according to Singapore's Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA).

Products from China that are found to be melamine-free include salted and preserved duck eggs, canned luncheon meat and animal feed, said the AVA.

AVA will continue to test food products imported from China. The tests have been expanded to include products high in protein, meat products and animal feed. So far, more than 3,200 types of milk and milk products and other foodstuffs have been tested.

Since the start of the melamine scandal, the number of tainted products found in Singapore has increased to 33.
