495,000 MT Soy Sales Switched From Unknown To China

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Monday that private exporters have switched the destination of previously reported sales of 495,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans from unknown to China. The delivery to China will be in the 2003-04 marketing year.

The soybean marketing year began Sept. 1.

The report was accompanied by a new announcement of the sale of 112,000 tons of U.S. soybeans to China.

U.S. exporters are required to report to the USDA sales of 100,000 tons or more of soybeans made in the same day to the same destination by 1500 ET (2000 GMT) the next business day, according to the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service. Any export sales under 100,000 tons must be reported on a weekly basis.
