Ovostar Union, the second largest producer of eggs and egg products in Ukraine, raised egg production by 11% or up to 443million units during the period of January to September 2011 compared with the figures on-year.

According to a company press release, the sale rate of eggs for the first nine months increased by 19% or up to 323million units. Holding also announced that in the period of January to September 2011, the company has processed 159million eggs, which is 30% higher than on-year.

Ovostar Union has exported 71million eggs, 65% more than on-year. Representatives of the company also said that on September 30, 2011, the total population of laying hens of the company was 2.45million, up by 25% compared to the level of the year before.

According to statistics, Ovostar Union in 2010 produced 546.1million eggs and 4.7 tonnes of egg products, while poultry livestock on its factories has reached 2.1million heads.
