Diamond V welcomes new ruminant technical specialist
Diamond V welcomes its newest expert to serve the dairy industry: ruminant field technical specialist Jeff Wheeler.
"It is my pleasure to introduce Jeff as the newest member of the Diamond V team," Kevin Larson, director of national accounts for Diamond V. "In his new role, Jeff will be responsible for providing sales and technical leadership for our business in North America."
Wheeler was active in dairy cattle showing and judging through 4-H, FFA, and the Junior Holstein Association. He attended the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens, US, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in dairy science. After graduation, Wheeler was a region manager for Pennsylvania Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) where he was involved with training and certifying supervisors in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He then continued his education at UGA and received his Master's degree for Science in ruminant nutrition. Wheeler's experience at Athens included teaching, coaching the Dairy Judging Team, and managing the research dairy for five years.
After completing his Master's, Wheeler joined Farmland Industries as a dairy sales manager, based in the Midwest. His experience at Farmland ranged from providing on-farm nutrition and technical support to supervising dairy consultants and managing a start-up business in Wisconsin. Most recently, Wheeler was a key accounts manager for Zinpro Corporation providing strategic direction and value-added support for dairy producers across the US.
Together with his wife, Lanett, Wheeler owns and operates a cow-calf, feedlot, and freezer beef business in northern Pennsylvania.
"We could not be more excited to have Jeff provide leadership and strategic guidance for our business in North America," Larson said.
