Ukrainian grain production reaches over 50 million tonnes

 

 

Ukraine produced 50.05 million tonnes of grains as of October 31 (Mon), according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

 

According to the announcement, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 14.54 million ha, or 93% of the forecast. The average yield of these crops in the country totalled 35.1 c/ha against 27.9 c/ha last year.

 

Agrarians harvested 14.54 million tonnes of corn throughout 2.52 million ha, 70% of the forecast. The average yield totalled 57.6 c/ha, as opposed to 44.3 c/ha in 2010.

 

Agrarians harvested buckwheat throughout 276 thousand ha, 99% of the forecast. The production volumes totalled 311 thousand tonnes with the average yield of 11.3 c/ha against 8.2 c/ha last year.

 

Ukraine harvested millet throughout 152 thousand ha, 99% of the forecast, and produced 291 thousand tonnes with the average yield of 19.1 c/ha (in 2010, 15.3 c/ha).

 

Ukrainian agrarians harvested soy throughout 997 thousand ha (89%), and produced 2.02 million tonnes with the yield of 20.3 c/ha (in 2010, 15.6 c/ha).
