Russia harvests 96.7% of planned areas
As of October 31, 2011, 41.6 million hectares, or 96.7% of the planned areas were harvested by Russian agrarians, according to operative data of subjects of the Russian Federation.
The production volumes totalled 96 million tonnes of grains in bunker weight, up 33 million tonnes compared to the same period of droughty 2010, and down five million tonnes compared to 2009 results. The production in clean weight after drying and cleaning totalled 90 million tonnes, according to specialists.
Grain yield formed at the level of 23.1 c/ha against 19 c/ha last year, and 23.9 c/ha in 2009, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. Agricultural enterprises of the Southern Federal District harvested grains throughout 96.8% of the sowing areas, and produced 22.3 million tonnes of grains compared to 19.4 million tonnes in 2010 and 20.7 million tonnes in 2009. The average yield totalled 33.1 c/ha as compared to 30.9 c/ha in 2010, and 30.8 c/ha in 2009.
The North Caucasian District harvested grains throughout 92.5% of the areas. The production volumes totalled 9.5 million tonnes, against 8.3 million tonnes in the previous year, and 8.3 million tonnes in 2009. Grain yield in the present year reached 37.2 c/ha as opposed to 32.1 c/ha in 2010, and 30.6 c/ha in 2009. In the current year, agrarians of the Volga District harvested grains throughout 95% of the areas, and produced 22.2 million tonnes of grains against 6.8 million tonnes in 2010, and 22.8 million tonnes in 2009.
Agricultural enterprises of the Siberian District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 98.6% of the planned areas, and produced 15.8 million tonnes of grains against 14.2 million tonnes last year, and 20.4 million tonnes in 2009. In 2011, the average yield totaled 16.1 c/ha against 15.4 c/ha in 2010, and 19.7 c/ha in 2009. The Urals District harvested grains throughout 96.4% of the areas, and produced 7.7 million tonnes against 3.5 million tonnes in 2010, and 5.7 million tonnes in 2009.
The average yield in the District totalled 21.7 c/ha as opposed to 13.5 c/ha in 2010, and 16.3 c/ha in 2009. Agricultural enterprises of the Central Federal District harvested grains throughout 96.7% of the areas, and produced 17.4 million tonnes of grains, as opposed to 10.2 million tonnes in 2010, and 22.5 million tonnes in 2009. In the present year the average grain yield totalled 25.2 c/ha, against 18.8 c/ha in 2010 and 30.2 c/ha in 2009. The Northwestern Federal District harvested grains throughout 89.4% of the areas, and produced 566,000 tonnes of grains, as opposed to 476,900 tonnes in 2010, and 681,600 tonnes in 2009. The Far Eastern Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 91% of the areas, and produced 589,400 tonnes of grains, against 279,100 tonnes last year, and 644,000 tonnes in 2009.
