Ukraine's September meat production down

Meat processing industry decreased production of meat and by-products in September by 2.4% or 2,133 tonnes to 86,276 tonnes, compared with August.

Ukrainian News learned this from a source in the Cabinet of Ministers.

In September 2011, production of meat and by-products of the first category rose by 0.2% or 209 tonnes, compared with September 2010.

In January-September 2011, production of meat and by-products of the first category grew by 8.9% or 65,018 tonnes to 794,437 tonnes, as compared with January-September of 2010.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in August, meat processing enterprises cut production of meat and by-products of the first category by 1.7% or 1,474 tonnes to 88,409 tonnes, compared with July.

In 2010, production of meat and by-products of the first category increased by 6.3% or 59,236 tonnes, compared with 2009, to 999,507 tonnes.
